It is important to be able and confident in your pool shots. It can be the difference between winning and losing. There are many different shots and each has its own rules. But you cannot just hit the ball. Instead, you will need to hit it hard. The better your chances of it getting pocketed, the harder you hit it.
A stun shot can be defined as a shot that requires strong hits. In a straight pool game, this means the cue ball has to travel straight in, and not veer off course. This can be achieved by raising the butt end of your cue or putting a jack on it.
A "break", also known as a shot, is one made at the last OOB of a straight swimming pool game. There are several different types of break shots. Some are used to help you get out of trouble and others to help you score more. One such is the golden break, or the golden pocket.
Another option is to break-out or break-out. This type of shot is great for scoring a quick shot when the cluster of balls is out of place. If you're lucky, your shot will jar up your opponent and put him in a bad spot. A good hit is often rewarded with an OB that is still on top of the table. This makes the task easier to get the ball off.

However, a "break" is not the only way to score a win. Here are some other ways to achieve the same goal:
Grade "A" shot: This is a shot that has a high probability of success. For example, a good hit will strike an OB first, followed by a second hit that can pocket the OB.
Fancy shot - This is a difficult skill that requires lots of practice and a couple props. This is a short, punchy stroke called a "J". The "J" stroke is not straight like a jab strike. It's curved in the same way as a pendulum. Similarly, a "jelly roll" is a roll of the cue ball that is especially beneficial for the shooter.
Fancy-looking: Another name for a fancy-looking shot is a "flight." Flight is a fancy shot that looks impressive but is not always the most accurate. A flight is typically a low percentage shot such as a top/bottom spinning or a flyer.
Stun shot. While it might not seem as glamorous as some other types shots, a stun photo is actually quite important. It's a good idea to have it on hand. Otherwise, your opponent could easily steal a win.

There are also other names for stun shots: the jelly roll and the grade B shot. But which one is the most important?
A nip draw in pool is a great idea. It keeps the CB off the table. The follow-through is minimal, so a nip stroke can be a bit more difficult.
