How to Make a Surprise Shot Pool

snooker and pool table

A good pool stun shot is something you should master. It can be the difference of winning or losing. There are many ways to play the ball, each with its own rules and methods. It's not enough to hit the ball. You must hit the ball hard. The better you hit it, it will likely pocket.

A stun shot requires a strong hit. In straight pool games, this means that the cueball must travel straight in and not divert from its intended course. This can be achieved by raising the butt end of your cue or putting a jack on it.

A "break" refers to a shot taken at the end of a straight pool match. There are several types of break shots. Some are used to get out of trouble, while others are designed to make it easier to score. One example of this is the golden pocket, also known as the golden break.

Another option is the break out shot or break-out. This type shot is great for quick shots when the ball cluster has moved out of line. If your shot is good, it may cause your opponent to be shaken up and put in a bad place. Often, a good hit will result in an OB that is still on the table, making it harder to knock the ball off.

You don't have to "break" in order to win. These are just a few of the other options.

Grade A shot: This is a shot with high success rates. A good hit can strike the OB first and then a second hit can take the OB.

Fancy shot: This is a rare skill that takes a lot of practice and a prop or two. Typically, this involves a very short and punchy stroke, called a "J" stroke. A "J" stroke, unlike a jab stroke is curved like a pendulum. A "jellyroll" is an additional benefit for the shooter.

Fancy-looking: A fancy-looking shot can also be called a "flight". Flight is a fancy shot that looks impressive but is not always the most accurate. A flight is usually a low percent shot, such a top/bottom rotation or a flying one.

Stun shot - While it might not be as glamorous than other types of shots but it is still very important. It's always a good idea have it on hand. It could be a way for your opponent to win.

Other common names for a stun shot are the grade "B" shot, the jelly roll, and the nip draw. But which is the best?

A pool nip is a good idea. This keeps the CB's from jumping off the table. A nipstroke is slightly more difficult because there is very little follow through.
