
Joe Perry is an ace snooker player. British snooker players, Perry has spent many seasons at the bottom end of the sport. He also enjoyed a few years at the top of the sport. He reached the Top 16 in 2002 for the first time. He has however spent three seasons not in the top 20.
Joe Perry has been dubbed "the Fen Potter" as well as "the Gentleman". He was born in the Cambridgeshire region and turned professional in 1992. He has been a full-time professional ever since. Ken, his brother, is also a professional.
Perry has been a constant fixture on the global stage, despite never having won a major ranking contest. He finished in the top 8 provisional rankings in 2011 and won a minor-ranking competition in 2015. He was a participant in a battle against Ronnie O'Sullivan at the Masters this year.

Perry has participated in both the UK Championship finals as well the European Open finals. He reached the quarter-finals for the World Championship. He reached the semi finals of the UK Championship in 2004, but was defeated by David Gray. He won the semi-finals of the UK Championship in 2004 against Judd Trump. However, he lost to Stephen Hendry in final.
He started his snooker career when he was twelve years old. In the early 1990s, he became a professional and a well-respected player. In 2001, he reached the final of the European Open. He then went on to win the Welsh Open in late spring of that year. He played in 2014's Wuxi Classic.
The same year, he beat Matthew Stevens, Marco Fu and Jamie Cope in the first round of the World Championship, and reached the semi-finals of the Masters. As a result, he won his second ranking title. Later in the year, he was involved in the Welsh Open and the Xuzhou Open. He fell to a 14th-place finish at the end.
Despite losing to Graeme Dott and Stephen Hendry, he has managed to secure a place in the top half of the world rankings. He has won three major tournaments on his path to the top: the Welsh Open Masters Masters, the Xuzhou Open Open, and the Welsh Open Masters Masters. He also runs courses to help people learn how to play the game.

He has tried many times to beat Ronnie O'Sullivan throughout his career. He won a 9-5 victory during the first round, 2008 UK Championship. He was only one frame away from winning the 2017 Masters Finals, but lost to Ronnie O'Sullivan.
In the first round of the 2018 World Championship, he beat defending champion Mark Selby. He won the 2015 Xuzhou Open. He also has several courses and is a BBC guest commentator.
