Pool leagues offer a great opportunity to network, improve your skills, have fun, and compete with other people. You can also meet new people and build a community. Some pool leagues host professional events. If you play well, it is possible to win lots of money. However, before you get involved with a pool league, you should consider some important factors.

First, you need to choose a league that is appropriate for your level of skill. There are several different leagues to choose from, and you can find the one that is best for you. BCA Pool League is also an option. This umbrella membership organization offers logistical support for events. It also allows you the opportunity to join pool leagues throughout different countries. This league hosts over 500 leagues from all around the globe and is the largest amateur pool tournament.

The Valley National 8-Ball League Association - VNEA is the largest amateur pool league in the USA and is played in over 400 places and towns all across the country. VNEA has also been active in 36 other countries.


Most pool leagues use a handicap system, which allows players to compete against players of the same skill. You should find out if your pool league uses handicaps before you sign up. Depending on your league, you may have to pay additional fees to participate in tournaments and to play.

American Poolplayers Association (APA), a non-profit pool league, was founded in 1979. Originally called the National Pool League, APA now has more than 250,000 members. Although not all APA's leagues include eight-ball teams (some do), most of them are.

USA Pool League is an organization for organized leagues. Over 100,000 members are part of the organization, which offers both 9 or 10-ball. Their mission: To promote weekly competitions on pool tables owned or leased by their members.
